Langtang Region is the third most popular trekking region in Nepal that covers Langtang- Gosainkunda and Helambu valleys. This region lies north of Kathmandu and easily accessible by road. Most of the trekking trails pass through rice terraces, farmlands, ancient villages, rhododendron forests on the higher altitude. The varied topography, high alpine pastures, glaciers, moraines, fresh water lake- Gosainkunda are the major highlights of this region. The people of this region belong to one of the ethnic groups of Nepal called ‘Tamang’ whose religious practices, language and costume are not identical to other ethnic people of Everest, Annapurna and Mustang regions. Lake Gosainkunda of the region is the most sacred to Hindu & Buddhist pilgrims who throng to celebrate during the full moon day in the month of August. Trekking to langtang region is highly recommended to those who want to explore nature, culture & love to be adventurous.

Langtang Region can be reached by land transportation from Kathmandu.
Permits and fees:
Special trekking permits are not required to visit this region. National Park Conservation fee is to be paid.
